Veeratteswarar Temple
Veeratteswarar Temple in Panruti is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Veeratteswarar. It stands on the banks of the Kedilam River and is one of the eight “Atta Veeratta Sthalams,” sacred sites where Shiva is believed to have performed acts of valor. The temple is famed as the birthplace of Saint Thirunavukkarasar (Appar).
